About A Bite of Grace

A Bite of Grace’s core belief is providing food for the body, soul, and mind through healthy meals and massage therapy for stress and trauma. We desire to help military and veterans, firefighters, first responders, and Law Enforcement, along with partnering with other foster care and homeless organizations to help improve the quality of life for our community.

Meechy McCarty learned how to cook while in jail on numerous accounts. his last being convicted of the sales of narcotics. While in jail he discovered his love for cooking and feeding people. He also met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during this time and turned his life around. God opened up many doors for him to be involved with mentoring programs. He moved to the PNW in 1999 to attend Portland Bible College, where he continued to work with at-risk youth in the juvenile centers of Hillcrest and McClarin.

Now he is using his love and passion to help those who have helped him and who are pillars in the community.

Both Meechy and Katie had the same vision to service those who serve and protect the community. God brought Katie and her family to Bethesda Community Church in late 2020 just before Meechy’s wife Beth had a car accident in early 2021. Beth and Katie became fast friends when Beth got the word-of-mouth referral to talk to Katie about treatment for a concussion and whiplash. In the development of their friendship, they realize there were so many things they shared, but their love to give back to Veterans, Law Enforcement, 1st Responders, and the Military were their closest bond. It all aligned together with God’s will and His plan for the region.

Beth came home and told Meechy about this Katie and how he needed to attend a Myofascial treatment session. The Holy Spirit came into that room, where Meechy shared his vision to serve the community with food and Katie knew the massage would go hand in hand. Through a growing friendship and seeking God’s will for both visions, we together became A Bite of Grace.
